Tour of Wonder Land, Medium-Sized
Continuing our tour through Sojourn in Wonder Land, I’d like to show you the five “medium” sized paintings. All of these are 12×18 watercolor paintings with a touch of pastel.
My favorite from this batch is the one called So Far Away Now, but I already told you all about how that one reminds me of my dog, Joe. You can read about it here if you missed that email.
Instead, I will tell you about It Should Last All Night. This started as another painting that I thought was finished (the old version is here on the right). It was posted to my website and everything. But then I discovered that I could add another layer of color and make the art so much more interesting (as explained in my previous email). So I went back and reworked it.
Now, it has so much more depth and intrigue. So much movement, like a
dance. It evokes a party that I don’t want to end, hence the title.
It Should Last All Night – That fun party that you want to go on and on forever. I never want to leave.
Delicious Night – All berries and ice cream, so delicious, so yummy.
Violet Serving – Cake and ice cream, yes please.
An Open Invitation – Come and find me, I’ll be waiting.
So Far Away Now – In time and space, we keep getting further apart.
