Tour of Wonder Land, EXTRA large

The final part of our tour through Sojourn in Wonder Land, the four “extra large” watercolor paintings. Three of them are 22×30, and the last one listed is 25×40.

I chose these large sizes because I had to fill a lot of space at Hotel Biron, the wine bar where they’re currently on display.

I was really nervous about making paintings this large. Would the paper be hard to deal with? Would I be able to get everything done while it was still wet? The outcome changes tremendously if the paint starts to dry while I’m working through covering the entire page. But it was no sweat; all four were easy enough to do and turned out great!

Of these four paintings, I think my favorite is Lost in Time. The colors remind me of a peacock. And the background reminds me of outer space. So here we are, out in the middle of nowhere, lost. This one has been purchased, but there are prints up for grabs.

Swirling Fantasy – Why do my paintings always make me think of ice cream?

Fly Me There – On wings of fire and fury.

Spilling Into Time – I believe we’ve opened a wormhole.

Which one do you like best?
