To add an octopus or not?

Can you see an octopus in the middle?

I’m trying to figure out how to combine my new abstract style with the octopuses.

In this black and red painting, I put some red coral on the edges. It ended up not standing out like I wanted it to. There isn’t enough contrast. So, do I rework the red? Or add more black behind it so it pops? Or do I just leave it to blend in?

Adding the coral was a bit therapeutic, almost like meditating. Half of me wanted to just let my hands go and do their thing; the other half was worried about the composition. I’m happy with how it turned out in the end.

Now I need to figure out how to add an octopus to the middle. I’m thinking a black silhouette to make it dramatic. But should it be big? Or small? Or just some tentacles? I’ll have to play around on Procreate.

What do you think I should do?
