How does the printer always know when to sabotage me?
My show is tomorrow. The studio is still a mess right now, but it’s on its way to looking incredible. I spent weeks finding the perfect picture rails, my husband and I tried to wrestle them onto the walls, but had to call in a contractor friend when the white wall turned out to be not even remotely flat.
Yesterday I finally started hanging some of the art.
I stood in the middle of the room and just… smiled. The pieces lined up beautifully on the top row. The little circular hardware catches the light, a little bit dazzling. It was worth the struggle.
Then the printer ran out of photo cyan ink. And I ordered the wrong replacement color.
I could have screamed.
So today, the day before my show, I’m waiting on a delivery and trying very hard to stay calm. I need to print pricing sheets. I need to make more prints to sell. I am a perfectionist who likes to have everything covered, and right now, one small thing is very much not covered.
It’ll work out. It always does.
But the printer and I are going to have a conversation after this is all over.
