The Most Beautiful Fidget in the Land

Do you have that friend (or two or three friends) on Instagram who you constantly swap images and videos with for fun?One of my Instagram friends sent me a video of this really cool 3-D printed “fidget thing.”

I’ve been fidgeting my whole life; I’m pretty sure that’s why I always had terrible hangnails and why I have chapped lips. I’d get so anxious hanging out with other people that I would pick at my cuticles and bite my lips. (I’ve mentioned before that I’m an introvert. Hmm, I wonder if that could have something to do with it!)

I have a friend who also fidgets a lot, and he has a 3-D printer, so I sent the video to him because I thought he would like it and would want a “fidget thing” for himself. When I saw him again, he had printed one for me also! It’s metallic gold and black, and shiny and very pretty.

It’s such a blast to play with, and it makes cool noises. I’m so delighted and shocked that he made one for me!

I love that over the last 8 years, fidgets have become such a big thing. And I’m glad that I’m not the only one who fidgets and is constantly moving my hands!

My fidgeting is so bad that sometimes my husband will get annoyed when we’re holding hands because I’m caressing his hand too much. Luckily, three out of the four dogs I’ve had love the constant, never-ending petting. My first dog, Joe, was not into it, though. He could only handle about 10 to 20 minutes of my affection per day.

Now that I have 12 different fidget items, my cuticles are in much better shape!
