The Cosmic Allamanda, Flower from Outer Space
My intention was to create more inferno paintings like the blue ones I painted a few months ago. As it turns out, yellow and red powders do not work the same way as blue powder.

I felt that the painting was boring, though it was screaming “flower!” at me. Enter my trusty mockup tool, Procreate, and I tried several different flower shapes on top of it (below). I knew there was a yellow flower with red freckles that I was trying to emulate, but I could not remember the name of the flower for the life of me.

Instead, I just went for a very intentional five-petal, pointy flower. The black edges define the flower and show some of the original background color, making it pop off the paper. The yellow was still too strong, though, so I added a touch of green to the background.

When it was complete, I wanted to give it a somewhat accurate name, so I searched for five-petal, pointy flowers and found the Allamanda fits the bill!
Do you like the painting? Would you hang it on your wall?
