Inktober drawings, continued…

It’s very tough for me to be enthused about a drawing challenge when I’m stressed by daily business responsibilities and life in general; AND when the Inktober prompts are not inspiring! So, I’ve decided to continue Inktober on my own terms: I will just pick and choose the prompts I want to draw, and I will do them at my own pace. There. I feel better about it already!

Picking up where I left off in my previous newsletter about Inktober, the fifth prompt was “deer.” As you can see, because I love octopuses, and since October also begins with “octo,” I used octopuses for all the prompts.

The sixth prompt was “pierce,” which I skipped. And the seventh prompt was “starfish.” In this drawing, the octo is not saluting; he’s wondering why that starfish is there. I had a hard time making the octopus look inquisitive and making him appear to look “up.”

I skipped ahead to prompt 9, which was “heavy,” and prompt 11, which was “sting.” I’m reasonably satisfied with those drawings.

Nothing else on the prompt list is giving me ideas to blend with an octopus. Are you inspired? Do you have an idea for me to try with an octopus and a promptI’ll be waiting to hear…
